Televising Of Cricket Overseas
EDM number 722 in 1993-94, proposed by Robert Hicks on 02/03/1994.
That this House welcomes the comprehensive television coverage of the current cricket Test series between the West Indies and England for those viewers who own satellite television receivers; regrets, however, that no agreement, formal or informal, exists between BSkyB and the BBC to show edited highlights at the end of each days play to a far wider audience; and expresses the hope that Cable Programme Partners who are to cover the 1996 Cricket World Cup will make the necessary arrangements for the BBC to show edited highlights of all matches and not just the World Cup final as was the agreement between BSkyB and the BBC in April 1992.
