Conleach Road Fire Station, Speke
EDM number 671 in 1993-94, proposed by Eddie Loyden on 23/02/1994.
That this House expresses deep-felt concern about the decision to remove fire fighting appliances from Conleach Road Fire Station in the Speke Ward of Liverpool, Garston; points out that in addition to one of the largest housing estates in Liverpool and a concentration of chemical industries, Speke contains Liverpool Airport; notes that a planning application to extend the Airport is under consideration that will add to the fire cover needs of the area; and calls on the Fire Authorities to withdraw these proposals and for the Home Secretary to make funds available to the fire authority to provide adequate fire cover by retaining the appliances at Conleach Road Fire Station.
This motion has been signed by a total of 42 MPs, 1 of these signatures have been withdrawn.
