Hypertropic Cardiomyopathy

That this House places on record its appreciation of the work of the Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy Association in providing support, counselling and advice for sufferers of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and their families and in increasing public awareness of and fostering research into this condition; notes that hypertrophic cardiomyopathy is a preventable, often fatal, disease occurring on a daily basis and affecting children and young people especially; and calls upon the Department of Health to ensure that funding for research into the disease is made available.
