AMNESTY INTERNATIONAL'S REPORT ON HUMAN RIGHTS IN NORTHERN IRELAND;Amdt. line 1:

EDM number 594A1 in 1993-94, proposed by David Trimble on 15/02/1994.

leave out from 'House' to end and add 'regrets the obviously biased and poorly researched report by Amnesty International which rehashes stale allegations of supposed collusion between some members of the security forces and loyalist paramilitary organisations, but which ignores the fact that these allegations have been subject to various investigations resulting, in the few cases where there was substance to them, in criminal proceedings; notes that Amnesty International ignored the evidence that on occasion republican terrorists have penetrated security and obtained information which has been used to murder members of the security forces; further notes that Amnesty International still fails to condemn the murder of members of the security forces; and expresses concern that the inquiry called for would benefit terrorist organisations and disrupt and hamper the pursuit of terrorists from whatever quarter.'.

This is a ammendment to 594.
