Identification Of British Goods

EDM number 52 in 1993-94, proposed by Alan Meale on 22/11/1993.

That this House calls upon Her Majesty's Government to introduce measures to establish a system for the identification of all United Kingdom sourced products sold in Britain's shops; and believes that such identification of United Kingdom produced goods would not only bolster their individual sales but also would have a highly beneficial effect on the nation's trade deficit, at least 50 per cent. of which is currently related to food and drink.
