Conduct Of The Welsh Development Agency
EDM number 458 in 1993-94, proposed by Rhodri Morgan on 26/01/1994.
That this House calls on the Secretary of State for Wales to call in the Chairman of the Welsh Development Agency for an urgent review of the guidelines for spending the multi-million pound urban regeneration budget of the agency, following the disappearance of at least ú40,000 under the town improvement grant scheme over the past two years; calls on the Secretary of State to investigate whether senior management in the Agency have been responsible both for drawing up guidelines and rules for grant payments which are wide open to such abuse and have themselves failed to adhere to what payment rules and guidelines did exist; and calls therefore on the Secretary of State to inform the House promptly of what corrective action he proposes to take.
