Investment In Public Transport
EDM number 431 in 1993-94, proposed by Terry Lewis on 24/01/1994.
That this House believes the ú23 billion roads building programme is an unnecessary waste of scarce resources; shares the anger of communities threatened by many miles of new motorways; believes the solution to future traffic problems is to invest in public transport; and calls upon Her Majesty's Government to restore such to the pre-eminent position it held before bus deregulation.
This motion has been signed by a total of 69 MPs, 2 of these signatures have been withdrawn.
