Cyprus: Confidence Building Measures

That this House applauds the action of the Foreign Secretary in making it clear to his Turkish counterpart, Mr Cetin, that he expects the Turkish Government to use its influence and best endeavours to aid progress with the confidence building measures in Cyprus; endorses his commitment to 'one country, one Cyprus, one government, two communities'; and offers its fullest support when he meets representatives of the Turkish and Greek governments on 19th, 20th and 21st January for his endeavours to seek with them a just and lasting solution which will bring peace, harmony and prosperity for all the citizens of the sovereign republic of Cyprus. (Relevant registered interest declared).
