That this House condemns Trinity International Holdings plc for the manner in which it disposed of newspaper titles formerly owned by Argus Press Newspaper Division within one hour of their acquisition with staff merely told of the sell-on by fax message; deplores the sale of the Surrey Comet and associated Kingston titles by Southnews plc to Reed Regional Newspapers which delivered redundancy notices to the homes of staff by courier; and calls upon the Newspaper Society to ensure all its members comply with the Transfer of Undertakings (Protection of Employment) Regulations 1981.
