VAT On Newspapers

EDM number 24 in 1993-94, proposed by Liz Lynne on 18/11/1993.

That this House views with concern the Government's threatened imposition of VAT on newsprint, which would cause a substantial reduction in newspaper sales and a contraction of the newspaper industry with a consequent loss of jobs and restriction of access to information.
