Twenty-Fifth Anniversary Of Afasic

That this House congratulates the Association for all Speech-Impaired Children on its 25th Anniversary and its work for children and young people with speech and language impairment; notes that half a million children in Britain have communication difficulties; recognises that the teaching of speech and language skills is a fundamental part of education; and calls on the Government to ensure that local education authorities fulfil their legal obligation to fund speech therapy.
