NEW ZEALAND WAR WIDOWS' PENSIONS
EDM number 171 in 1993-94, proposed by John Butcher on 02/12/1993.
That this House urges Her Majesty's Government to top up the value of the New Zealand war widows' pension received by some 38 war widows resident in the United Kingdom to a level which would give parity with the British war widows' pension, bearing in mind the fact that much of the increase would be offset by a reduction in income support and that the total cost of this measure would probably be less than ú100,000 per annum and would gradually reduce with the passing of time and, therefore, the financial implications are minimal.
