Convicted Criminals In Security Firms
EDM number 170 in 1993-94, proposed by Geoffrey Robinson on 02/12/1993.
That this House notes with concern the complete lack of regulation in the security industry that leaves companies free to employ staff with criminal records for security work; and calls upon the Government to establish a regulatory body, requiring statutory registration of all firms involved in private security work and with powers to vet all existing and prospective employees, owners and directors of such firms and to monitor their activities.
This motion has been signed by a total of 83 MPs, 2 of these signatures have been withdrawn.
