No Place Called Home

EDM number 1687 in 1993-94, proposed by Robert Maclennan on 31/10/1994.

That this House notes with concern the findings contained in the publication No Place Called Home published jointly by the Scottish Council for Single Homeless and Shelter (Scotland) in September 1994, and in particular that a high proportion of young homeless people in Scotland have a history of social work care; notes further that most of the provisions of the Children Act 1989 do not extend to Scotland and that young homeless people aged 16 and 17 years old are particularly at risk in Scotland; and calls upon the Government to bring forward a Children's Bill for Scotland to be debated in the next Parliamentary session.

This motion has been signed by a total of 18 MPs.
