That this House notes the involvement of Sir Peter Levene in the proposed acquisition of VSEL by GEC and British Aerospace; notes also that Sir Peter Levene acts as a special adviser to both the Prime Minister and the President of the Board of Trade; and therefore urges Her Majesty's Government to ensure that Sir Peter plays no part whatsoever in determining whether either bid be referred to the Monopolies and Mergers Commission.
