Parliamentary Consultants To North West Water
EDM number 1622 in 1993-94, proposed by Gordon Prentice on 20/10/1994.
That this House deplores the refusal of Sir Desmond Pitcher, Chairman of North West Water, to disclose to the Member for Pendle details of the duties and remuneration of its Parliamentary consultant on the grounds that this would be a 'breach of commercial confidence'; and believes people in the North West who pay handsomely for water supplied by the company have a right to know what advice, expertise and specialisms are brought to bear by such a consultant and how much that consultant gets paid.
