Proposed Closure Of Post Office In Rochdale

That this House views with serious concern the proposals of Post Office Counters Ltd. to close the Post Office in The Esplanade, Rochdale; acknowledges the excellent service provided at that Post Office and its accessibility to disabled and elderly people; deplores the proposed move of the counter services to a corner of Woolworth's without proper consultation; and therefore calls on Post Office Counters Ltd. to take heed of and respect the strength of local opinion on this issue in maintaining the Post Office at its current site.
