Vibration White Finger

EDM number 160 in 1993-94, proposed by Andrew Miller on 02/12/1993.

That this House is disturbed that while vibration white finger is on the list of prescribed occupational diseases, and thus subject to industrial injuries benefit claims, certain victims of the disease, who have indisputably contracted it as a result of their work, are denied industrial injuries benefit, because the injurious process involved in their occupation is not registered as a cause of the condition on the prescribed occupational diseases list; and urges the extension of the list to include all occupations which cause vibration white finger to correct this anomaly without further unnecessary delay.
