Crisis In The National Health Service In South Glamorgan
EDM number 153 in 1993-94, proposed by Rhodri Morgan on 01/12/1993.
That this House condemns the state of crisis in the under-provision of hospital beds in South Glamorgan hospitals; notes that at 8.30 a.m. on 30th November, the University Hospital of Wales informed the Bed Bureau that it could take no more patients as it was full, that there were only five beds available to accommodate 19 patients requiring emergency admission on that day and that Llandough NHS Trust refused a bed to a chest patient for whom Neath General Hospital requested a transfer, as Llandough was also full; and requests the Secretary of State for Wales to ensure that under-resourcing of the NHS in Wales that leads to ward closures and bed shortages is brought to an early end.
