BBC Tv Programme Commissioning From Foreign Companies
EDM number 148 in 1993-94, proposed by Clifford Forsythe on 01/12/1993.
That this House is dismayed that, at a time of recession, Headquarters BBC Television in London has chosen to give ú4 million worth of licence-payers' money to foreign television companies from the Republic of Ireland for making programmes which could have been commissioned from hard-pressed British independent companies, helping to secure jobs and boost economic revival in the United Kingdom.
This motion has been signed by a total of 7 MPs.
