Social Housing

That this House notes with concern the plans by the present Government to introduce a Statutory Instrument which would oblige housing associations in Wales to switch resources from social housing programmes to various forms of assisted ownership; notes that this shift in emphasis is already taking place under the Housing Corporation in England; calls for promotion of the social housing programme in general; and records that this issue highlights once more the need for an elected democratic Parliament for Wales with legislative powers over such important fields as housing.
