Fifeness Coastguard Service

EDM number 1406 in 1993-94, proposed by Menzies Campbell on 28/06/1994.

That this House views with alarm government proposals to cut the budget of the Coastguard Services by 20 per cent.; acknowledges the contribution to the safety of all seafarers made by all coastguard stations round the shores of Britain; in particular recognises the many occasions when the Fife Ness Coastguard Station has ensured the safety of vessels from the fishing villages of the East Neuk of Fife; and calls on Her Majesty's Government to abandon any proposal which may have the effect of putting in question the continued operation of the Fife Ness coastguard Station.
