Access To Public Woods And Forests
EDM number 138 in 1993-94, proposed by Alan Meale on 01/12/1993.
That this House is concerned about the growing threat to people's freedom to walk in the nation's woods and forests; is against the Government's policy to sell off hundreds of thousands of acres in Britain's trees and land currently under the control of the Forestry Commission; and calls upon Her Majesty's Government to recognise the importance of protecting freedom of access to public forests, by stopping all future sales, and taking adequate steps via legislation to protect the public's rights to its access to publicly owned places.
This motion has been signed by a total of 79 MPs, 1 of these signatures have been withdrawn.
