Child Support Act Demonstration In Trafalgar Square
EDM number 1345 in 1993-94, proposed by Mildred Gordon on 17/06/1994.
That this House condemns the action of the Department of National Heritage in refusing permission for a rally in Trafalgar Square on Father's Day of a network of organisations from all over Britain which oppose the Child Support Act 1991, on the flimsy pretence that this event would be likely to attract a large number of people, especially with children; and believes this deplorable decision to be a denial of the democratic right of parents and an excuse which could be used to prevent the use of Trafalgar Square for any demonstration.
