Welsh Development Agency

EDM number 1334 in 1993-94, proposed by Ieuan Wyn Jones on 15/06/1994.

That this House recalls the assurances given at the time of the re-organisation of the Welsh Development Agency that a strong presence would be maintained in Bangor; is concerned to note that most of the staff at the Bangor office have now received notices making them potentially redundant with offers to apply for posts at St Asaph with no mention of the fact that any presence would be maintained by the agency at Bangor; and calls for an immediate statement by the Chairman of the WDA confirming that the office at Bangor will be kept open to maintain links with industry and local authorities and to continue to work for the economic regeneration of North West Wales.

This motion has been signed by a total of 7 MPs.
