That this House, in the interests of road safety and of reductions in congestion caused by broken down vehicles on the roadside, notes the advice of the Automobile Association and the Royal Automobile Club that the exemption in the Shops Act 1950 should be maintained; and calls upon Her Majesty's Government to accept the Lords amendment to Schedule 13(1)(c) of the Sunday Trading Bill, which would allow all motor supply shops unrestricted trading on Sunday.
