Prospects Training In Nottingham

That this House calls for an urgent inquiry into the threatened closure by Greater Nottingham TEC of Prospects Training Nottingham, an agency with over 300 trainees and the best record of core training for young people in the county, the best record for trainees going on to NVQs and the second best record of getting trainees into jobs; and notes with alarm that the squeeze of government funding for special needs training is driving training standards down to unviable and tokenistic levels, and inducing TECs to pursue funding contracts for the training of the unemployed which are both derisory and unprofessional.
