ST JAMES' PRIMARY SCHOOL, CHELTENHAM
EDM number 1251 in 1993-94, proposed by Nigel Jones on 18/05/1994.
That this House applauds the parents of children attending St James' Primary School in Cheltenham for investigating in depth the advantages and disadvantages of opting for grant maintained status; congratulates them on their clear rejection in a parental ballot; notes that Gloucestershire County Council funds education at above the Government's standard spending assessment; and calls on the Government to reverse the budget cuts they have forced on schools over the past four years by increasing standard spending assessments for those areas, including Gloucestershire, who are unfairly discriminated against by the system of area cost adjustment.
This motion has been signed by a total of 8 MPs.
