Family Planning In South Glamorgan

EDM number 1194 in 1993-94, proposed by Jon Owen Jones on 10/05/1994.

That this House condemns the proposal by South Glamorgan Health Authority to cut its entire budget of ú140,000 to family planning clinics; and calls upon the Community Health Council and Welsh Office to oppose this proposal and recognise the importance of this service to the community, and in particular in reducing unwanted teenage pregnancies especially at a time when sex education in schools is under threat and general practitioners' surgeries are often not best placed to provide help and advice in the matters.
