Conduct Of The Honourable Member For Fulham
EDM number 1104 in 1993-94, proposed by Clive Soley on 21/04/1994.
That this House regrets that the honourable Member for Fulham saw fit to attack his own local authority in such misleading terms during Prime Minister's questions on 21st April; further notes that the policy leading up to the legal action by one bank, and referred to by the honourable Member as fraud, was initiated by the previous Conservative administration Hammersmith and Fulham; congratulates the council for its determined, courageous and successful efforts to root out inefficiency and corruption to the extent that their financial effectiveness was praised by the District Auditor in his last two annual reports; notes that the council's policies on law and order, transport and housing have all been recently commended by visiting Government Ministers; and therefore calls upon the honourable Member to withdraw his comments which are insulting to the area he represents.
