Merseyside - Objective 1 Status

That this House notes with grave concern the fact that EU structural funds under the terms of EU Objective 1 status for areas of high social and economic stress are being cut by over half for both capital projects and Social Fund initiatives as a result of Government decisions to shift spending priorities to other projects; and calls on the President of the Board of Trade to intervene in order to restore the finance available to such projects.
