Transport Policy
EDM number 980 in 1992-93, proposed by David Marshall on 02/12/1992.
That this House notes with interest and welcomes the conversion of Lord Ridley, former Secretary of State for Transport, who has publicly announced 'that I do not believe it is possible to privatise the railways'; contrasts this with his privatisation of public transport, especially the buses, during his period as Secretary of State; further welcomes this enlightened, if belated, approach to transport; and calls upon the government to take a similar trip to Damascus on such matters.
This motion has been signed by a total of 55 MPs.
