Engineering Employers Federation And The President Of The Board Of Trade
EDM number 930 in 1992-93, proposed by Ken Purchase on 24/11/1992.
That this House appreciates the crucial role of the engineering industry to Britain's future; therefore notes with dismay that the Engineering Employers' Federation has stated publicly, first 'The Department of Trade and Industry lacks the vision, competence or the determination to produce a long-term industrial strategy' and second, 'That industry needs a more effective and committed champion than the current President of the Board of Trade'; and therefore calls on the Prime Minister to recognise the validity of the Engineering Employers' Federation's complaints and to dismiss the President of the Board of Trade in order to advance the prospects for British industry.
