Public House Licensees

EDM number 922 in 1992-93, proposed by Colin Shepherd on 24/11/1992.

That this House is concerned about the operation of the Tied Estates Order in that public house licensees are being coerced into an unacceptable situation whereby as annual or short-term tenants they are fully liable and responsible for all repairs both internal and structural; and calls upon Her Majesty's Government to review the legislation to achieve a proper balance between the interests of the licensee and the owner of a public house.

This motion has been signed by a total of 21 MPs.
