Juries
EDM number 90 in 1992-93, proposed by Chris Mullin on 19/05/1992.
That this House notes the bold decision of the jury at Oxford County Hall; notes that the jury is expressing the widespread public concern about the official handling of the investigation into the deaths of Conrad Cole, Richard Gillespie, Stephen Satchell, Lee Thompson, Kevin Leech, Paul Atkinson, Martin Ferguson, John Lang and Neil Donald; believes that without a jury this concern would have found no public expression and believes that this once again reinforces the importance of juries, the voice of ordinary people, in the British legal system.
This motion has been signed by a total of 49 MPs.
