Local Government Reorganisation Proposals For Wales

EDM number 886 in 1992-93, proposed by Rhodri Morgan on 18/11/1992.

That this House welcomes the disclosure but not the contents of the Welsh Office's latest proposals in relation to the boundaries of the new unitary local authorities; believes that the provision of this vital information to the Labour Welsh Front Bench is a measure of the deep disquiet felt by the full-time officials who have been working long and hard on the local government reorganisation proposals; and ask the Secretary of State to respond to this development with an early publication of his long promised White Paper, as any further gerrymandering will render these proposals totally unacceptable to the people of Wales.

This motion has been signed by a total of 22 MPs.
