Constructive Use Of China Clay Waste

EDM number 881 in 1992-93, proposed by Matthew Taylor on 18/11/1992.

That this House recognises the change for the massive environmental benefits to be gained through the use of China clay waste in the construction of the second Severn crossing; believes that the opportunities for recycling of this waste should be given priority over the extraction of new aggregates, either from the Bristol Channel or from land sites, both of which would have damaging and unnecessary environmental consequences; and calls upon her Majesty's Government to develop an immediate policy initiative to ensure that all major public investment projects incorporate a presumption in favour of recycling such materials to positively promote the use of these materials.

This motion has been signed by a total of 20 MPs.
