Job Cuts At Scottish Enterprise
EDM number 759 in 1992-93, proposed by James Wallace on 06/11/1992.
That this House expresses its grave concern at the threatened reduction in jobs at Scottish Enterprise and in the network of local enterprise companies; notes the valuable work that this organisation has achieved over the last 18 months; calls on the Government to recognise the importance of the role of Scottish Enterprise as a promoter of new industries and training, especially significant at a time of economic recession; and insists, as a matter of urgency, that the Government increase its financial backing for Scottish Enterprise in order to end the current economic difficulties.
