Pollution In East Thames Corridor

That this House expresses concern about the existing levels of atmospheric pollution in the East Thames Corridor which will be seriously increased if current proposals for incineration and other combustion processes in the area go ahead; expresses further concern that the present method of dealing with applications for the various processes does not allow consideration of the potential cumulative effects of all the proposals; and calls upon the Secretary of State for the Environment to establish a comprehensive commission of inquiry before any proposals are approved either by his Department or the Department of Trade and Industry.
