Conduct Of The Rt Hon Member For Grantham And Colombian Coal

That this House notes the admission of Dr Jairo Arango, head of the Colombian Coal Industry Association, that children work in 890 of Colombia's 1280 mines; believes that the price of this coal depends on this exploitation of child labour; condemns this unreservedly; is staggered at the remarks of the Right honourable Member for Grantham, answering for the Government, who dismissed honourable Members' concerns by claiming that no coal imported into Britain is mined by children; and calls upon the Government to furnish proof of this, and to cease importation of this coal forthwith.
