Opencast Minerals Planning Guidance Notes 3
EDM number 629 in 1992-93, proposed by Jack Thompson on 22/10/1992.
That this House notes with deep concern that the long-awaited statement from the Secretary of State for the Environment about the outcome of the review of the Minerals Planning Guidance Notes 3, which are heavily biased in favour of planning operations for mineral extractions, is allowing planning applications to be approved, even when there is overwhelming evidence that they are detrimental to the environment and the local community; and stresses that the need for an urgent response to the views expressed by interested parties in modifying its Minerals Planning Guidance Note 3 is overwhelming.
