That this House deplores British Coal's decision to place in jeopardy the future of the Frances Colliery situated in Fife, Scotland, even though its known workable reserves are substantial in quantity and recognised as being of the finest low sulphur quality in Britain; and call upon Her Majesty's Government in the light of their recently announced about turn on the pit closure programme, to instruct British Coal to continue to maintain this valuable national asset for future use.
