Efficiency Of Courts And Police Time
EDM number 62 in 1992-93, proposed by Max Madden on 14/05/1992.
That this House is becoming increasingly concerned that the present system of court administration is cumbersome and inefficient, and too often leads to police officers being required to waste time in court waiting to give evidence which is never heard; believes that their time would be far better spent policing communities; notes that this could be achieved by simple amendments to court procedures at no cost to the public purse or natural justice; and calls upon Her Majesty's Government to carry out an urgent review of court administration to maximise the efficiency of both court administration and police resources.
