Nuclear Test Ban
EDM number 608 in 1992-93, proposed by Paul Flynn on 20/10/1992.
That this House welcomes the support of the United States Congress for a nuclear testing moratorium by the United States beginning in October; is convinced by the arguments for a ban set out by Dr Ray E. Kidder of the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory; and calls on Her Majesty's Government to support the moratoria on nuclear testing by France and Russia by cancelling Trident warheads tests and by informing the Secretary General of the United Nations of the United Kingdom's willingness to re-open negotiations for a comprehensive nuclear test ban treaty.
