ENVIRONMENT COMMUNICATIONS' SURVEY

That this House congratulates Environment Communications from WBMG for its excellent publication, Changing Environment Course, What MPs think of Radical Environmental Policies; notes that 88 per cent. of honourable Members demand high priority to a programme on reducing acid emissions at power stations, 75 per cent. of those questioned advocate a 20 per cent. reduction of carbon dioxide emissions on 1990 levels by 2005, with 45 per cent. of those questioned from the new intake giving this their highest priority, 70 per cent. of honourable Members questioned favour the mandatory collection and recycling of all chemicals which are harmful to the ozone layer, 60 per cent. of questioned honourable Members support an immediate ban on CFC production and the production of other products harmful to the ozone layer and 55 per cent. support the development of renewable as opposed to nuclear energy; and calls on the Government to produce a coherent and radical programme on the environment and sustainability in response to the actions willed by the honourable Members and reflected in this important survey.
