South Glamorgan Health Authority
EDM number 558 in 1992-93, proposed by Jon Owen Jones on 24/09/1992.
That this House deplores the appalling mismanagement of the South Glamorgan Health Authority particularly since the General Election, which has combined on the one hand the most blatant use of party political patronage and cronyism, with widespread financial cutbacks, ward closures both seasonal, temporary, weekend, overnight and permanent, and culminating in the issuing for the first time in the history of the National Health Service, of compulsory redundancy notices to nurses in the Cardiff Royal Group of hospitals and the suspension without explanation of Alan Trew, the Unit General Manager of the Cardiff Royal Group subsequent to his statement to the Press that the patient care was being adversely affected by the current year's under funding.
This motion has been signed by a total of 33 MPs.
