Attack Upon Freedom Of The Press In Kenya

EDM number 490 in 1992-93, proposed by Peter Hain on 14/07/1992.

That this House notes with concern the seizure by the Kenya Government of copies of the magazine Society for criticising the Government, the detention and charging with sedition of Society staff members and the petrol bombing of the magazine's premises; and calls upon President Moi to cease these unwarranted attacks upon the freedom of the Press in Kenya.
