The Case Of Mr Frank Machon
EDM number 467 in 1992-93, proposed by David Marshall on 09/07/1992.
That this House notes with concern the troubles of Mr Frank Machon, a reputable businessman living in the Shettleston constituency and his company, Polmadie Storage, Glasgow, inasmuch as he stored and transported fuses and charges for ammunition, manufactured by Allivane International Ltd., to and from storage space provided by Army Logistics, Andover, as agreed by the signature of Lieutenant Colonel G. R. Browning, and at the Army Depot, Longtown, Carlisle, in 1988, and for four years has tried to get paid for his work despite assurances from the Ministry of Defence that he would, in the event of Allivane not paying, which it did not; further notes that the Sheriff Court, Glasgow, on 1st June 1992 awarded him the sum of ú68,825.48p plus costs against Allivane's successor company, Aero Techonolgies Ltd.; and finally notes that Mr Machon has evidence to indicate that Allivane was supplying arms to Iran and Iraq by exporting such arms from Great Britain.
This motion has been signed by a total of 6 MPs.
