Manufacture And Sale Of Vehicle Identification Marks

That this House is concerned at the growing use of false vehicle number plates in the commission of crimes; believes that such identification marks should only be manufactured and supplied on the production of a vehicle log book; further believes that the task of the Police in combating crime will be immeasurably improved if this simple measure is adopted; and urges the Home Secretary to cause the enactment of appropriate legislation as a matter of extreme urgency.
