Sarajevo And The G7 Summit
EDM number 457 in 1992-93, proposed by Russell Johnston on 08/07/1992.
That this House condemns the reported position taken by the British Government during discussions regarding what was Yugoslavia at the G7 Summit, where only Prime Minister John Major opposed consideration of the use of force to relieve the city of Sarajevo, which has now been besieged for two months, with the deaths of many civilians from long-range indiscriminate shelling, and while the other six western leaders rightly insisted that the present circumstances necessitated urgent examination by the United Nations of measures 'not excluding military means, to achieve its humanitarian objectives.'.
This motion has been signed by a total of 5 MPs.
